Hey, we could all use a little dating advice. There really is no shame in seeking out some tips. It’s not like we were given a manual at birth entitled “Dating Rules for Men.” For the most part we are just kind of making things up as we go along. Here is the thing though; it can be painfully obvious sometimes that we do not know what we are doing. Time and time again guys make huge blunders on their dates. It’s like watching a train wreck. There are a few dating rules that need to be followed. There is, simply, no getting around it. So next time you are out on a date, keep a few of these tips in mind, and you just might be able to avoid a few blunders.
* Don’t Get Sloppy
* When you take a woman out on a date, especially someone you are just getting to know, you should be as stone cold sober as humanly possible. Don’t toke up before the big event. Do not shotgun a beer. This is not a college party. It is okay to have a drink or two; in fact, a drink or two during the date can help to take the edge off and loosen up the atmosphere. Just do not over do it. Even if you think you are being cool. Slurred speech, an uncensored mouth, wandering eyes, and jelly legs are huge turn offs. Be Able to Carry on a Conversation
* First, you never want to talk at your date. This is might just be the number one dating rule for men. Too many guys spend the whole evening talking about themselves and they never let their date speak. Second, you need to be able to talk about current affairs or small talk. After that initial getting to know you round of conversation, there is always a lag. Being able to talk about multiple subjects will help you get past this. So, make sure you are up to date on all the most current topics going on in the news, sports, and entertainment. Don’t Lay It on too Thick
* Compliments are great. When you first meet your date, tell her that she looks nice. Make a comment about her hair, her dress, or her shoes. This is good; but this is where you should stop. Too many guys read a dating rule that say’s “compliment the girl,” and they take it to heart. If you give the girl too many compliments you are in danger of doing one of two things. First, you may give her a big head and she will be conceited. Second, she will become creeped out by complements. Giving compliment after compliment is very intimidating, and women see it as a turn off. Have Fun
This, however, is the number dating rule that guy needs to follow. Do not act like you are going to the morgue. You are taking your date out to have a good time. So do so. Seriously, loosen up, have some laughs, and stop worrying. Guess what; if you have a good time, she most likely will too.
